Perodua sold 24,626 units in September 2022 – YTD now at 196,354 units, 64.9% higher compared to 2021

Perodua sold 24,626 units in September 2022 – YTD now at 196,354 units, 64.9% higher compared to 2021

Perodua has announced that it managed to sell 24,626 vehicles in September 2022, which is 5.43% less than the 26,039 units it managed in August. Even so, total sales in the third quarter of this year (3Q22) went up by 5% to 69,011 units compared to the second quarter (2Q22) that saw 65,719 units delivered.

“The increase in registrations in this quarter (3Q22) shows that most of the major issues within the automotive supply chain have normalised. It is now time to further improve on production as we need to reduce the waiting period for our valued customers,” said Perodua president and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

With these figures, Perodua’s year-to-date (YTD) total for the first nine months of this year is currently at 196,354 units, 64.9% higher than the 119,093 units sold in the same period last year – the target is 247,800 units this year.

Perodua sold 24,626 units in September 2022 – YTD now at 196,354 units, 64.9% higher compared to 2021

The significant year-on-year increase is largely due to lockdowns imposed in 2021 to contain the spread of Covid-19, which hindered vehicle production and registration. This is also reflected in a quarter-to-quarter comparison, as 3Q22 saw 216.5% more deliveries than 3Q21 – the carmaker sold just 21,803 units between July and September last year.

“For now, we are focused on increasing our momentum into the fourth quarter of this year as well as maximising production in the first quarter of next year to ensure all our customers who booked their Perodua vehicles during the sales tax exemption period will receive their car on or before March 31, 2023,” Zainal said.

The company also noted that as of June 30, 2022 – the deadline for the SST exemption – the number of outstanding bookings eligible for the exemption was above 200,000 orders. As for production, last month saw the highest number of cars produced so far this year at 29,077 units, while the production YTD total stood at 206,387 units.

Toyota is the biggest shareholder in Daihatsu, thus itself enjoying the healthy profit makings.

Toyota is the ONLY shareholder in Daihatsu. Daihatsu is wholly owned by Toyota.

Itu pun sekadar tukar Logo… Kalau Ativa, Aruz, Alza buat perubahan drastik mcam dr Saga FLX ke Saga VVT mungkin jauh lebih baik tinggi lagi jualan… Malangnya perodua xmok potensi pasaran MPV & SUV ni…

When I was looking for a new car late last year, I was dismayed by the phone connect situation due to how it has been implemented. All Peroduas have USB port on the surface with super ugly wire dangling from it to connect my phone. Why not implement hidden ports or wireless phone connect system so I don’t have seen the ugly wires huh? Because Perodua hate their customers. That’s why.

In any case, I got myself an X50 , which has hidden phone connect ports. I simply rejected the models/brands, which only sported USB on front for phone connection. They can keep their damn cars.

Reminder to Proton not to brag so much. Just remember by 2025 proton must be able to sell 250k a year as promised by Geely 10 years after partnership.

Its been 3 months waiting the new Alza for me. It’s just natural that I’m monitoring the FB Alza 2022 group and I must admit, there are some scary revelation over the quality of the new Alza that have been delivered. Should I instead switch to Veloz?

P2 the saviour to malaysians who budgeted under rm60k car with less headache and lower maintenances. But the interiors build material needs to be improves.
P1 pulak better solid build but needs to improves on drivetrain for cars under rm60k. People rather “downgrade” to perodua or “upgrade” toyota/honda just because the dated timing belt campro and punch cvt will creates headaches after few years or some milleages…
