2024 Range Rover Evoque facelift – 309 PS/540 Nm P300e PHEV; 14.9 kWh battery w/up to 62 km EV range

The Range Rover Evoque gets another update for the 2024 model year, following the previous update which arrived in mid-2020. Where the previous revision brought new infotainment and a three-cylinder petrol engine, this iteration now brings a streamlined variant line-up and a revised, reductive approach to cabin design.

The revised range is now comprised of S, SE, Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE and Autobiography variants, with D165 and D200 mild-hybrid diesel powertrains as well as P160, P200 and P250 mild-hybrid petrols, topped by a P300e three-cylinder petrol plug-in hybrid.

Headlining the range is the P300e, which features a 1,598 cc inline-three-cylinder petrol unit with a belt-integrated starter-generator and a rear axle electric motor, combining to produce a total system output of 309 PS at 5,500 rpm and 540 Nm of torque from 2,000 rpm to 2,500 rpm. This brings a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 213 km/h.

Electric drive draws from a 14.9 kWh battery which JLR says will offer up to 62 km of pure EV driving, or 48 km of real-world EV driving range. The P300e can take DC fast charging to top up its battery in 30 minutes when using a 50 kW DC fast charger, or a full 0-100% charge in two hours when using a7 kW home charger.

Other powertrain variants in the 2024 Evoque range feature mild-hybrid electrification, using a belt-integrated starter-generator (BISG) to recuperate energy for storage in the 48-volt battery.

All variants use an AWD driveline, save for the base P160 FWD petrol and the D165 FWD diesel, the latter the sole six-speed manual offering in the line-up. All other variants use a nine-speed automatic gearbox, save for the base P160 FWD petrol and the top P300e PHEV, which use an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Taking centrestage in the front of the cabin is a new, floating 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen alike the unit in the Velar and Land Rover Discovery Sport, and slightly smaller than the 13.1-inch unit in the flagship Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.

The aforementioned reductive cabin design is demonstrated in the Pivi Pro infotainment suite, where all major vehicle functions are access via the touchscreen display. Climate, audio and seating controls are continuously visible on new sidebars, with multi-function sliding controls on each side.

This also means that the vehicle’s Terrain Response 2 are now also accessed through the Pivi Pro infotainment system, granting the driver selection of modes comprised of Eco, Comfort, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Dynamic and Automatic.

Virtual buttons offer access to frequently used controls for front air-conditioning temperature, cameras, navigation and audio volume. Approximately 80% of tasks can be performed within two taps from the home screen, according to the carmaker. Smartphone connectivity is via wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, while wireless device charging is situated in a stowage area in the centre console.

Integration of Amazon Alexa within the Pivi Pro infotainment brings voice control to the 2024 Evoque, while the camera suite that includes 3D Surround View, ClearSight Ground View and ClearSight Interior Rear View augments the driver’s lines of sight.

Software updates for the systems will be delivered over-the-air, reducing the frequency of software-related service visits, while a Remote App offers users access to vehicle status, as well as remotely locking and unlocking the vehicle, cabin pre-conditioning and scheduling battery charging via one’s smartphone.

Air quality management is by the Cabin Air Purification Plus system in the Evoque for the first time, coming standard on the Autobiography trim or as part of the optional Comfort Pack. This brings PM2.5 filtration and carbon dioxide management, controlling CO2 levels within the cabin to aid driver alertness. A Purify function can be activated within the Pivi Pro infotainment system, helping to reduce allergen and particulate levels.

Upholstery for the 2024 Evoque comes courtesy of the Kvadrat wool blend fabric which joins a selection of natural leathers, either of which pair with Moonlight Chrome detailing, itself complementing Technical Light Anodised or Dark Anodised Aluminium trim depending on variant, or Shadow Grey Ash Veneer for the Autobiography trim level.

The 2024 model-year Range Rover Evoque is available to order in the United Kingdom, and prices start from 40,080 pounds sterling (RM236,351) in the UK.
