Mercedes-Benz may retire the GLC Coupé and GLE Coupé from its line-up as the German manufacturer continues to consolidate its model range, Autocar has reported.
The two combustion-engined coupé-SUVs are reportedly at the top of the list of existing models from the German manufacturer which are set to be dropped as it continues its transition to a fully electric product range, even if development of selected EV platforms has been cancelled.
A source at the manufacturer’s headquarters a report by Handelsblatt that suggested an announcement on further consolidation of models is coming soon, though the source did not indicate if the GLC Coupé and GLE Coupé specifically are being retired, only saying that “every model is under review,” and that “it is a continuous process.”
While the second-generation GLC Coupé made its debut in 2023 and is therefore early in its lifecycle, the GLE Coupé facelift premiered in the same year, which makes the larger model further along in its lifespan, with the C167-generation model having made its debut in 2019.
Other models which have also been marked for discontinuation include the A-Class model line which was initially set to be dropped this year, though it has been given an extension, and the compact model range will be produced into 2026.
Among the new models set to come from Mercedes-Benz this year include the third-generation CLA, which has been previewed by the Concept CLA that was unveiled in September 2023.

I never understand the purpose of SUV coupe, it is less spacious than a normal SUV for the same price, not to mention it is ugly as hell.
