MyLesen B2 bike license: 32,974 qualified and took part; remaining applicants in training, testing phase

A total of 32,974 individuals have qualified and have taken part in the MyLesen programme as of September 14, 2024, reported New Straits Times. Of the total, 1,730 individuals have completed the programme, said transport minister Anthony Loke.

The remaining 31,244 individuals are currently in the training and testing phase, which runs from July to November of this year, Loke said.

The MyLesen programme was introduced at a national level in May 2023 to aid persons from the B40 income group in obtaining a B2 motorcycle license for motorcycles below 250 cc of engine capacity, as part of the transport ministry’s initiatives as outlined in the 2023 Budget.

In addition to B2 motorcycle licenses, the MyLesen programme also provided for the acquiring of public service vehicle (PSV) and goods driving licenses (GDL) for lorries. This programme was formed to enhance the social-economic status and household income by enabling individuals to secure job opportunities, according to NST.

Don’t upgrade license when you don’t even enforce the road rules. We are losing many professionals who can afford big bikes but then crash and die.

it’s weird we are all blowing a fuss about upgrading a B2 to B license, but we can have car drivers with a D driving from a kancil to a supercar.
