The Chery Group sold a record 2,603,916 vehicles worldwide in 2024 (+38.4% vs 2023), including a whopping 1,144,588 units outside China (+21.4% vs 2023).
This means it’s beaten Geely in overall sales by 427,349 units and remains among China’s top car exporters (GWM exported 453,141, BYD 417,204, Geely 403,923). We await SAIC’s numbers to see if Chery is still the export king.
Although over 1.6 million units down on BYD’s overall total, the Chery Group sold 583,569 new energy vehicles (that’s battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles), representing an astounding 232.7% year-on-year growth and trouncing GWM’s 2024 NEV sales total by over 260,000 units.
Sales broken down by brand are Chery 1,611,374 units (+31.1%), Jetour 568,387 units (+80.3%), Exeed 140,959 units (+12.3%), iCar 65,964 units and Luxeed 57,956 units.
