You’re looking at official photos of the 2025 BYD Atto 3 facelift, posted by Car News China – as seen before via government filings, the updated EV SUV (which China calls the Yuan Plus) now looks more like its younger, smaller and cheaper sibling, the Atto 2 (known as the Yuan Up in China).
The front bumper features sharper incisions in the corners, in which sit the redesigned air inlets. These join a downturned centre inlet, giving the SUV a sportier look overall.
The rear bumper apes the front in terms of design and includes a smaller decorative skid plate. It’s joined by a new tailgate spoiler with a scalloped centre section and pause icon-inspired dual brake lights. Look closely at the full-width tail lamps to see wave-like interlocking light signatures also seen on the Atto 2 and Dolphin.
No more C-pillar scales; now there’s a simple continuation of the silver window trim, stopping just short of connecting with the body-coloured ‘fin’ beneath. There are even new rear quarter windows to facilitate this, while the rocker panels get a slimmer silver strip for a cleaner look.
Those alloys are new; they’re more covered up for better aerodynamics. We’ll wait for interior photos to be released so we can determine if there are any interior changes.
The front camera has been moved from below the front bumper to above it. Could this guy have the new God’s Eye C (DiPilot 100) driver assistance system? For that to work, it needs a three-camera block under the windscreen, four surround-view cams, five long-range cams, five millimetre-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 29 sensors.
No changes are expected to the powertrain and battery options. Currently, the sole RM149,800 Extended Range (pre-facelift) model in Malaysia carries a 204 PS/310 Nm single front motor and a 60.48 kWh Blade LFP battery for a 420 km WLTP range. Previously, there was a 49.92 kWh battery choice that yielded a 345 km WLTP range.

I think this model is supposed to be Otter to complement Seal, Sea Lion. Must be someone don’t know how to spell simply use Atto when registering the name.
They need to redesign that weird and ugly interior more than the exterior
True
All this while, the exterior still look pretty decent, one part that i can’t accept is the interior design with the guitar string, look very odd to me, just my 2cents opinion.
change the ugly interior!! No more toy-like interior
The head rest silhouette looks different from the current one…hopefully they change the interior
means your hard earned money only BUY YOU DREGS
Just allow BYD Seagull in into Malaysia. It cost around RM 50K and very affordable. I would be the first to book even if I have to sleep outside their sales office
still generic looking front and rear
