BYD Atto 3 cumulative global sales crosses 1 million units – 30 units of EV sold every hour, 719 units daily

Cumulative global sales of the BYD Atto 3 have surpassed one million units, the company announced on its official Weibo page today. The electric vehicle (EV), which is called the Yuan Plus in China, was launched in its home country back in February 2022. As such, it took the Atto 3/Yuan Plus about three years and nine months to reach the milestone.

According to CarNewsChina, 300,000 units of the Yuan Plus were sold in China within 14 months of its initial launch, with a further 200,000 units delivered in the following six months. Meanwhile, the next half a million units required 25 more months, in which time BYD exported the Yuan Plus as the Atto 3 to over 100 countries worldwide.

For some trivia, it took BYD 1,391 days to deliver one million units of the Atto 3 globally. That would mean the Chinese automaker sold (on average) nearly 30 units per hour, 719 units per day, 5,032 units per week and 20,129 units per month.

The Atto 3/Yuan Plus is the third model under BYD’s Dynasty series to hit a million units, with others before it being the Song/Seal-U crossover and Qin sedan.
