The Jeep Cherokee is back! After a three-year hiatus, the brand’s midsize SUV will enter its sixth generation, with a full debut set for late 2025. This adds another chapter to the Cherokee story, which temporarily ended when the fifth-generation model (which was sold in Malaysia) was discontinued after a near 10-year run that ended after the 2023 model year.
The American carmaker says it redesigned the Cherokee from the ground up, and it certainly looks that way. Early images reveal an SUV with a rugged appearance and squared-off front end, which is a far cry from its predecessor that was rather generic in terms of styling.
Unlike the brand’s other SUVs like the Wagonner/Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee and Compass, the Cherokee gets a U-shaped daytime running light signature. The large front bumper with prominent structures in the lower apron also commands a bit of presence.
In Jeep’s release, the company confirmed that the Cherokee will be offered as hybrid but it wasn’t specific if it will be a conventional hybrid or plug-in hybrid setup. Further details like pricing and specifications should be announced in the coming months, with the revived model likely to slot in between the Compass and Grand Cherokee.
