The Setia City Convention Centre is once again the place to be this weekend, as it is where the 2025 paultan.org Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) is being held, over this weekend from 9am to 7pm. Among the brands taking part are Audi and Volkswagen, and the German brands are showcasing their range of vehicles which visitors may view, experience and purchase.
Among the highlights of the offerings from Audi is the Q7 that is priced at RM459,990, a three-row SUV that packs a 3.0 litre turbocharged V6 engine producing 340 PS and 500 Nm, and the combustion engine here is paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that incorporates a belt-driven starter generator, enabling the Q7 to coast with the engine off for up to 40 seconds at speeds from 55 km/h to 160 km/h.
Driveline for the Q7 is comprised of an eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel-drive, enabling a 0-100 km/h run in 5.6 seconds and a top speed capped at 250 km/h. Both stability and agility are aided by rear-wheel steering.
Malaysia gets the Q7 as an S line trim variant, which brings equipment including Matrix LED with Audi Laser Light, customisable rear OLED lights, black styling package plus with S line trim, Audi Sport Seats Plus, Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound, 22-inch Audi Sport Y-spoke wheels and electronically adjustable third row seats, among others.
For those looking for fully battery-electric motoring, Audi has the Q8 e-tron at the show, priced from RM299,990. Buyers can choose from two bodystyles with two powertrains, and these are the Q8 e-tron 50 advance, Q8 Sportback e-tron 50 advance, Q8 e-tron 55 S line and Q8 Sportback e-tron 55 S line.
The Q8 e-tron 50 advance and the Q8 Sportback e-tron 50 advance get a pair of electric motors which provide 340 PS and 664 Nm of torque combined, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of six seconds and a 200 km/h top speed. Next are the Q8 e-tron 55 S line and Q8 Sportback e-tron 55 S line, which each bring a more powerful setup totalling 408 PS.
Looking for something sleeker than SUVs? The Audi booth has a stylish number in the A5 Sportback, sold in Malaysia in 2.0 TFSI quattro form with the S line trim package. Under the bonnet is a 2.0 litre turbocharged TFSI four-cylinder engine that makes 249 PS and 370 Nm, driving all four wheels through an S tronic dual-clutch seven-speed automatic.
Fellow group brand Volkswagen is also present with the Touareg, priced from RM399,990. A close relation of the Audi Q7, the Touareg is also now locally assembled (CKD), and packs plenty underneath its handsome exterior. Powertrain is a 3.0 litre V8 TSI turbocharged petrol engine that outputs 340 PS and 450 Nm, driving all four wheels through the manufacturer’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system and and eight-speed automatic gearbox.
There’s plenty of kit in the Touareg; highlights of its equipment list include Advanced Night Vision (a first for a Volkswagen in Malaysia), adaptive cruise control, four-zone ‘Air Care Climatronic’, a 730-watt Dynaudio Consequence sound system, 15-inch Discover Pro Max infotainment system and navigation, IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights and a proactive passenger protection system.
