In today’s tabling of Budget 2026 by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the PM and finance minister announced an allocation of over RM48 billion for highways and road infrastructure in Sabah and Sarawak.
The big allocation includes the Pan Borneo Highway, which spans both states. According to Anwar, nine packages in the Sarawak section of the Pan Borneo are fully completed and open to the public. Up north in Sabah, four packages in ‘Fasa 1A’ are completed. In 2026, RM1.67 billion have been allocated to Pan Borneo Sabah for the project to be implemented according to schedule.
The Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR) Fasa 1 is expected to be completed in November 2026, while SSLR 2 is under construction and is expected to be completed by the middle of 2029. Also, the Lebuhraya Trans Borneo (LTB) project completes the connecting route between Sabah and Sarawak.
Elsewhere, the Madani government will upgrade the ‘red line’ road at the Durin and Salim, Sibu section in Sarawak with the cost of RM350 million.

48 billion is an incredible huge amount. we can foresee a lot of Albert Tei in the near future with videos exposing local politicians of corruption. and dont forget many govt officials could stash millions ringgit of cash inside their home/car/toilet etc. no need to argue with me as there had been so many past cases already
obviously this is a tactic to use peninsula tax money to subsidize the east malaysia and preventing them from demanding too much which will destabilize PH gomen .
Or to get some of the money the peninsula has been sucking out of East Malaysia for decades. Funny, you don’t see the decades and decades of massive oil profits flowing out of the East to subsidize the peninsula development.
48 billion??? Nice la
That means 45 billion for songlap nicceee
