Honda MSX125 – new Monkey is made in Thailand

Honda MSX125-04
There’s a new cheeky fella in town, and this latest Monkey is made in Thailand. The Honda MSX125 (Mini Street X-treme 125) carries on the tradition of the original, small-wheeled leisure bike, defined by Honda in 1963 with the iconic Monkey.

Honda says that the MSX125 is small enough to be “supremely manageable” (shot in Bangkok, the video below perfectly showcases the new Monkey’s agility) yet has a “fully-fledged feel” thanks to a selection of standard sized motorcycle parts.

“It is part mini-bike, part motorcycle, with engaging performance matched to confident handling and styling that combines a sense of fun with a tough, urban edge,” the press release adds.

The MSX125 is powered by the well-proven and efficient 125 cc fuel-injected engine from the Honda Wave 125i kapcai, which has been refined for better economy and smoother power/torque delivery. The 9.7 hp four-stroke engine is paired to a four-speed gearbox and clutch.

Complementing the power train is a compact chassis that features a sturdy steel frame, inverted 31 mm front forks, monoshock rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes (two-piston caliper holding a 220 mm disc in front, single-piston caliper and 190 mm disc at the back) and lightweight 12-inch wheels sporting wide, low profile tyres.

Four colours are available – Asteroid Black Metallic, Pearl Himalayas White, Pearl Queen Bee Yellow and Pearl Valentine Red. Since it’s made in Thailand, the new Monkey could swing its way here in the future.

  • From my era, owning a cordless phone back then was a luxury coz it was banned or controlled ….

although Bikes are not banned, they are light years behind our neighbours especially fuel injection one…What’s wrong ??

    • Fuel injection doesn’t make any sense in Malaysia, as the price for petrol is much cheaper than in Thailand. During the lifetime of the bike you won’t get back the additional costs for the fuel injection.
BTW: For that reason there are no new 2-stroke bikes any more in Thaiand for approx. >10 years already.

  • btw your opening statement is misleading…..
“There’s a new cheeky fella in town” is giving a wrong impression that it is here !!!!!

According to Thailand motorcycle price website updates, it will cost around 65500 to 66500 bath, around RM6550 to RM6650. But is yet to confirmed.

Honda Thailand got few very nice Honda models, like the CBR150, which cost only arond 75000bath (RM7500), & their CBR250R is only cost around 100500bath (RM10050).But in Bolehland, it cost around RM20K,price all control by those suckers G,sighhh…

Hasn’t been riding on bike for 13 years already, after my EX5 was stolen. This one really bring my passion to ride on one. But then again, not sure if I can still remember how to ride one.

  • For years, the HCG diet (human chorionic gonadotropin) has attracted overweight and obese individuals desperate for a weight loss “miracle. This means that they operate for only selected kinds of bodies. “Carb-Timing”Generally, you have to have to find out to take in “starchy” carbs at the right occasions. Sometime I am searching in the mirror and begin of crying. A lot of people do not drink sufficient water in the first place, but it is much more imperative to drink water during the Hcg weight loss plan.
