Bernama reports that Rapid Kuantan has announced that it will be introducing a more efficient transit bus service management system known as the Bus Integrated System on May 31. The bus service currently runs 16 routes with around 15,000 users daily.
The Spanish-designed product will be able to bring under one umbrella a multitude of facets such as planning and scheduling, fleet tracking, passenger information and automatic fare collection, said its chief executive officer Zainurul Hakim Mohamad.
“This will also support the on-board system such as closed-circuit television cameras, on-board bus information, communication system and emergency button in providing passengers with world-class service,” he told reporters.
He added that users can utilise MyRapid cards for cashless transactions – MyRapid card users will get a 20% discount on fare rates from May 31 to July 31 and, from August 1 onwards, will enjoy a 10% discount on fare rates. The card, which costs RM20 and can be reloaded from RM10 up to RM300, can be obtained from customer registration counters at city stop terminals.
