Lada Vesta Cross Concept unveiled at 2015 Moscow Off-Road Show – doesn’t it look totally amazing?

Do you remember the time Jeremy Clarkson destroyed a Lada? Or perhaps when Top Gear tuned a Lada – with the help of Lotus – back in the day. Well, those days are a distant memory, with the company unveiling the Vesta Cross Concept.

The study made its debut at the Moscow Off-Road Show 2015, and the vehicle supposedly previews both the production Vesta estate model and a more rugged version.

This particular model has raised ground clearance and black linings. The front façade shares the characteristics of the sedan, and the rear has its similarities too. The interior also seems to be from the sedan as well.

Reports suggest that the Lada Vesta Cross Concept is inspired by the “Lada B” platform that was developed via a collaboration with AvtoVaz’s parent company, Renault-Nissan. Apparently there are rumours that this vehicle is based on the Renault-Nissan B architecture that is used by models like the Micra, Juke, Dacia Logan and Datsun Go.

It’s speculated that the Lada Vesta sedan will enter production by the end of September, and the Vesta estate is expected to launch next year, with a Vesta Cross version arriving later on. In terms of powerplants, its anyone’s guess really. We also have a video of the Lada Vesta Cross Concept in all its glory too. Watch it below.

this car Lada is the lowest level one can go in life. In Europe if you use Russian Lada, that means you are poor to the core.

    Yet this car got VSC.

Our Camry, Rm150k also got no VSC and yet Same Lorrr and Sam Loo and SamShowedMetheHilux come here and bull

Absolutely, whats more disturbing is, the Lada Sedan also share the same dashboard design. Who’s copying whom? Oh my proton..

Lada (a.k.a AvtoVAZ) is like Russia’s Proton (note that Russia also has a ‘Proton’ under their Proton rocket series).

Lada used to sell cars in Malaysia at one point in time. The only model I’ve managed to find is the Lada Niva SUV, I don’t think they sold the Riva or Samara sedans here, and definitely not the newer ones like the Granta.

Lada has a habit of making very nice concept cars, but their production cars often fall short of expectations… just like our Proton then ?

I don’t understand how Russia has historically made some of the world’s best planes, from the MiG-21 to the Su-27 and now the PAK FA… but their national cars like the Lada, UAZ, GAZ and all the others have always been hit or miss (mostly the latter). Don’t be fooled, the Russians LOVE their national cars, especially the old Riva sedan which has strong sentimental value (similar to our original 1985 Proton Saga), but they (average Russians) prefer to buy JDM Japanese (especially in the Eastern states) and budget Korean cars, and even Chinese cars. Don’t make fun of Lada in front of a Russian, unless if they make fun of it first, then it’s cool. lol

AvtoVAZ originally made a rugged version of the Fiat 124 – in fact, the Italian automaker built the plant at Togliattigrad (to honour the late Italian Communist Party chairman) & supplied the technology. Soviet & Eastern European models were marketed as Zhigulis with the Lada marque reserved for markets outside the U.S.S.R. & COMECON.
