Subaru XV Facelift 1

Another one making its physical debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show is the Subaru XV facelift – Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) had revealed the car earlier in September this year. So what exactly has changed over the outgoing version of Subaru’s elevated Impreza hatch? Not much at first glance, to be honest.

Up front, the Subaru XV facelift gets a refreshed fascia replete with new headlights and LED positioning lamps. Elsewhere, a new chrome-accented grille is to be found – gloss black on the XV Hybrid – while additional L-shaped chrome add-ons frame the foglight assembly. The petrol variant also scores a set of new dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, changes are relatively minute with the addition of a revised three-spoke steering wheel and contrasting orange stitching on said wheel and around the interior. Additionally, there’s added LED lighting under the head unit while a closer poke around reveals the presence of Subaru’s EyeSight safety system.

The rejuvenated XV also gets two new colours added to its palette with Hyper Blue and Dark Blue Pearl colour schemes. Under the bonnet, the Subaru XV facelift soldiers on with the same FB20 2.0 litre naturally-aspirated flat-four engine. Said mill puts out a total of 148 hp at 6,200 rpm and 197 Nm at 4,200 rpm. As expected, power is sent to all four wheels via a five-speed manual or a Lineartronic CVT with six “ratios”.
