Hyundai releases final two Super Bowl ads – get motivated to be better and laugh along to Kevin Hart

After initially revealing two of its four Super Bowl commercials (one starring Ryan Reynolds), Hyundai has revealed its final two spots that will be aired during the big game – the humorous “First Date” and the motivational “Better”.

As predicted, “First Date” bears Ride Along 2 comedian Kevin Hart, and some moderate stalking with the help of the Genesis G90’s Blue Link Car Finder feature. However, don’t think badly of that idea, as it involves Hart playing the role of an overprotective father looking out for his daughter, who is going out dating.

What better way to do that than to offer the young man the keys to his own Genesis sedan (soon to be the Genesis G80)? Be it at the cinema, the fun fair, or at a lookout spot, Hart is on point to make sure that young man keeps himself in check, especially when it comes to the level of intimacy with his daughter.

The main spot, “Better,” is meant to serve a healthy dose of motivation, and illustrates Hyundai’s determination to strive to be, well, better. In the 60-second ad, we are introduced to young child with a V8 engine for a heart (curious), and we follow his life path from infancy, all the way to adulthood.

Throughout the “journey,” we see the young man push himself to study harder, stay fit and work up the courage to speak to his crush. It’s also endearing to see him assist an old lady who is struggling with an umbrella during a downpour, where he helps to “protect” her from the elements.

Towards the end, we find out that the man has now become a designer at Hyundai, applying his final touches on the Vision G Concept. A voiceover chimes in at this point saying, “better is the engine that drives us, to do what we do, to make the cars that we make.” Falling in love with Hyundai yet?
