Sections of Jalan Semantan in Damansara, Jalan Cheras and Taman Billion roundabout in Cheras will be closed starting from February 24. The closures are meant to facilitate MRT construction works according to MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (PDP), Bernama reports.

On Jalan Semantan, SPRINT Highway, there will be a right-most lane closure for a stretch of 300 metres for 17 days (until March 11) to allow for road widening works. Said lane will be closed for 24 hours during the period, but the two remaining lanes will still be available for motorists heading for KL and PJ.

A 120-metre, 24-hour long-term partial lane closure will take place at Jalan Cheras towards the MRR2 Highway from Kajang, near to the Taman Billion roundabout to facilitate construction of the MRT guideway, until April 1.

A statement released by MMC-Gamuda noted, “as an alternative to access Jalan Cheras (KL bound), motorists coming from Kajang are advised to use the Taman Billion roundabout to get onto the MRR2. Similarly, on Jalan Cheras, there will be a closure affecting both KL and Kajang bound motorists at Taman Midah from 11 pm until 5 am. The closure will be for 63 days until April 26.

“Traffic from KL heading towards Kajang will be redirected to the internal road at Petronas petrol station near the Cheras Christian cemetery and exit to Jalan Cheras via the egress of McDonald’s during the closure.” Motorists from Kajang heading towards KL, will be directed to the lane below the future Taman Midah MRT station.

MRT doesn’t travel down to the majority of residential areas around and outside of KL. Still need vehicles to get around.
