Chevrolet Cruze inspired by TRON: Legacy showcased

Chevrolet Cruze Show Car Inspired by Disney Film TRON: Legacy

Over at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show sits a specially-designed Chevrolet Cruze sedan that’s inspired by the 2011 movie TRON: Legacy. The Cruze also celebrates the opening of Shanghai Disney Resort on June 16.

According to Chevrolet, the Cruze was developed in partnership with The Walt Disney Company China. To top it off, it also “conveys Chevrolet’s bold vision for personalised cars to come.”

Utilising special metallic paint, the Cruze sports blue lines that run across its body – particularly along the bumper, grille surrounds, sides and wheels – to give the exterior “a futuristic aura.” Also noticeable are the blue lights that can be found on the smoked headlamps and tailamps.

More blue lines can be found inside the car, in particular the leather-wrapped seats, floor mats, air-vents and centre console surrounds as well as the steering wheel. Meanwhile, the instrument panel is also in blue, while ice blue ambient lighting illuminates the interior.

It’s expected to be just a visual exercise to promote the resort as Chevrolet has not provided details of any tweaks done to the engine. In China, the Cruze is offered with two different engines including a 112 hp/145 Nm 1.5 litre four-cylinder mill and a 147 hp/234 Nm turbocharged 1.4 litre unit. The latter is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

  • Dress it up however you want people still wont buy these korean (daewoo) junk cars. Ive owned a captiva, my colleague bought a cruze and we both agree that its total junk. Weve been stranded at the side of the road and have spent tens of thousands of ringgit in replacement parts that should have been recalled in the first place. When i see all the parts inside, it all has korean writing on it. Truly a sign or reliability!
