Peugeot has released the 2016 Speedfight 4 Total Sport scooter to commemorate its two-decade-long partnership with French oil company Total, and the scooter’s 20 years in production. Targetted at newly licensed young riders, the Speedfight 4 Total Sport is small and lightweight, designed for the urban environment.
Powered by a new 50 cc two-stroke, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, the Speedfight 4 Total Sport’s mill pumps out 5.3 hp – five percent more than the current Speedfight 4 scooter. Torque is also up by a claimed 15%, although no official figures were published.
The engine used a single Dellorto carburettor for fueling, and the fuel tank is located under the floorboard to lower the Speedfight 4 Total Sport’s centre-of-gravity. A single Shuricane disc brake with four-piston caliper takes care of braking duties in front, while a single disc does the job at the rear wheel.
Creature comforts on the Speedfight 4 Total Sport include an under-seat storage compartment that takes a full-face helmet, and both USB and 12-volt sockets for charging smartphones and the like. The two-seater stitched saddle also has an optional pillion seat cover available, to give the scooter a sporty, single-seater look.
Retailing for 2,099 pounds sterling (RM12,041), the 2016 Peugeot Speedfight 4 Total Sports only comes in black. The standard Speedfight 4, retailing at 1.899 pounds sterling (RM10,900), also comes in Fluo Apple Green, Flat 6 Red and Bleu France, and three special edition colours – Ice Blade, Pure and Darkside.
