VIDEO: Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer MPV walk-around

Here’s a walk-around video of the Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer, Nusa Otomobil’s alternative to the likes of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. At RM286,734, it’s a fair bit more affordable than Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s own V220d (RM435k) and the officially imported Alphard/Vellfire (RM355k-RM520k).

It has more seats too – 10, to be exact, qualifying it as a commercial vehicle, contributing to its relatively low price. Under the hood lies a 2.1 litre (2,143 cc) four-cylinder diesel engine pushing out 163 hp at 3,800 rpm and 380 Nm at 2,400 rpm, driving the rear wheels via a seven-speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission.

It’s absolutely massive, at 5,370 mm. Full LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, powered rear sliding doors and Active Parking Assist are all standard, as are six airbags, electronic stability control, Crosswind Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Assist. But enough reading, watch the video above for full details.

Although New Alphard is more expensive then this is, it is more premium looking. This looks just like a normal van.

Make the warranty 5 years or 200,000km. Very odd when it is only 2 years to match the 200,000km.

I guess the commercial vehicle status mean that its meant to be driven long distances frequently, thus the 200k km at only 2 years compared to 4-5 years if driven on a home-to-cold storage basis.

A good alternative to the VW Sharan, though this would drive like a proper big van rather than an mpv.

    • RWD of course can drift, altough it is meant for drifting. Even Hyundai Starex (which is also RWD) can drift. You can search the video on YouTube.
