It appears that Naza Euro Motors is set to bring in Citroën’s offshoot DS brand into Malaysia. The company showed off the first car, the DS5 – essentially a facelifted version of the Citroën DS5, shorn of the double chevron badges – at Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) this week.
The order books have already been opened, with an estimated price of RM198,888 on-the-road with insurance. A five-year/120,000 km manufacturer warranty will be included in the price.
The new car can be differentiated from the outgoing model through a new “DS Wings” front grille that bleeds into the xenon headlights – the latter feature new graphics and LED modules and sequential indicators, as seen on the revised DS3. The side intakes have also been slightly reshaped, while the 18-inch wheels have been given a new “Adelaide” two-tone turbine design, and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres.
Elsewhere, very little has changed, but the interior does receive a new Touchdrive infotainment system, controlling everything from navigation to music. The seven-inch touchscreen streamlines the control layout, with 12 fewer buttons on the centre console. Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink connectivity has also been added.
In terms of kit, blind spot monitoring joins the same level of standard equipment as before, including keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a glass roof with three skylights, Bluetooth connectivity, a head-up display, a six-speaker, 100W Denon sound system and six airbags.
The 1.6 litre Prince THP turbo four-cylinder petrol engine now produces 165 PS at 6,000 rpm, 9 PS more than before, while peak torque remains steady at 240 Nm from 1,400 rpm. With an updated six-speed automatic transmission, the DS5 has a fuel consumption figure of 5.9 litres per 100 km combined and emits 30 g less carbon dioxide per km than before, at 135 g per km.
On the chassis side, the dampers now feature preloaded linear valves (PLV) for more linear damping and a longer compression stroke, while suspension impact noise has been reduced.

65k SGD quite reasonable
Belum tambah 10X price for COE
Even the normal Citroen brand failed big time. Many times revived with different distributors yet it failed each and every time. And now they launch their DS brand, which is even more expensive than the normal Citroen.
Who on earth will buy at RM199k?
For you everything fail lah. This fail, that fail. Nothing positive comes out from you ? Negative man.
Stupid comment from keyboard warroior
nicely designed from both external and interior. 1 thing weird was the power window buttons for rear passengers are located back of the centre arm rest console.
If PSA buy Proton, this will be rebadged as Proton Preve Aeroback xD
Damn…that will be a crazy hoora hoorey thing
It’s better to buy Volvo V40 than this car
Great car but it’s too expensive, I would rather get an Audi A3
in the end, same problematic engine, same useless aftersales by Naza and its affiliates.
There’s one in OU too. Quite like the changes to the FL model and I hope the new suspension fixes the harsh ride of the old model. Although I do prefer the seat design of the old model.
The ride issue only affected early batch of the old model. Citroen DS5 sold in Msia mostly are later batch which have updated rear shocks that greatly improved the ride. Facelift DS5 also getting it. Anyway, the updated rear shocks is cheap enough to buy.
Later batch of the old model come with Euro IV compliant Prince engine. 163bhp. This is not a problematic engine like some earlier Prince engine. Just, its better to use RON97 petrol (Euro 4 petrol) which compliment the engine’s emission standard i.e. Euro IV.
Most DS5 owners that I come across (>30 owners) reported no significant problem with their cars.
Other comments in here mostly (perhaps all of them) were made by someone who does not owned it. No wonder its all typical bashing and whatnot.
This car will guarantee its owner exclusivity. And attention.
Its the kind of car you definitely want people to know you own it.
had no idea they were still around
Does it matter what you think?
it mattered to you
how is the rear view from driver seat?
that c-pillar is it transparent? looks wide
This car will surely be limited edition in the future…..Becoz this car is very very rare. Finiding spareparts and expertise will be very rare as well.
Always better than any Honda junk
Citroen should give buyers worry free ownership experience….then the car can be desirable
1. extended warranty to 7 years or more
2. unlimited mileage warranty
3. buy back guarantee scheme
Do any of the items above….you shall be fine CITROEN. If not, buying a CITROEN can be too risky
Throw away the old books….you cant sell cars using the old formulas anymore
