Here’s something to keep you occupied while waiting for the new seasons of Top Gear UK and The Grand Tour. BBC America has released a first-look trailer of Top Gear America, which is set to premiere on July 30, 2017.
The new series succeeds the previous Top Gear USA, which aired on the History Channel from 2010 to 2016, and will feature three new hosts. They include American actor William Fichtner, who you’ve probably seen numerous movies (including Michael Bay ones), British motoring journalist and presenter Tom Ford (now with less hair), as well as American drag racer Anton Brown (the sport’s first African American champion).
Lest we forget, the person that some say is the third member of the Daft Punk is also part of the ensemble. In the previous series of American Top Gear, his Stigness worked alongside American actor Adam Ferrara, Rallycross racer Tanner Foust and auto racing analyst Rutledge Wood.
Based on the trailer, things certainly look promising with plenty of exotic machinery (Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, Honda NSX) on show. Of course, there’s plenty of fooling about including going through a drive-thru in a BAC Mono, crashing through boxes and some fast-paced off-roading in a Polaris RZR
A total of eight episodes will be aired in the first season of the new series, and we can’t wait to see what shenanigans will be shown in its pilot. Excited?
