Ahead of the 2018 FIM Asia Road Racing Championships (ARRC), Malaysian racer Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (#25) has posted positive lap times during pre-season testing at Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand. Azlan was constantly at the top of two days of timed testing, posting a fastest lap of 1’38.936″.
Riding for Manual Tech KYT Kawasaki, Azlan attributed his performance to critical improvements to the bike’s suspension. As defending champion, Azlan is confident of winning the first race of the Supersports 600 category of the 2018 season this weekend.
There are nine Malaysians racing in the ARRC Supersports 600 class, with the inclusion of two other Malaysian-based teams – ONEXOX TKKR Racing and SIC Junior ZK Racing. Zaqhwan Zaidi (#21) of MUSASHi Boon Siew Honda came in fourth fastest with 1’39.042″ while his rookie team mate Azroy Hakeem Anuar (#20) succeeded in breaking into the top 10 with 1’40.112″.
