Hyundai Vision Concept to debut in Geneva – new design language for future cars, Fluidic Sculpture 3.0?

With the 88th instalment of the Geneva Motor Show just around the corner, many manufacturers are seizing the opportunity to flaunt their latest and greatest. Hyundai will also be part of the flock, premiering three new models – the Kona Electric, NEXO and the never-before-seen Vision Concept.

Now, we already know details of the Kona Electric and hydrogen-powered NEXO, but nothing of the Vision Concept is known at present, except the fact that it will set the pace for the company’s future design language. Fluidic Sculpture 3.0, anyone?

According to the company’s press website, “all future Hyundai models will be based on a new theme, which will harmonise the key design elements proportions, architecture, styling and technology. The principle is to integrate the brand’s sporty and distinctive design heritage to create progressive-looking cars that defy the design boundaries between form and function. The concept is captured in a distinctive new look and feel for the brand.”

“The line-up at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show underlines Hyundai’s pioneering spirit in future mobility and showcases the fact that Hyundai is leading the industry’s transformation. With the Kona Electric and the NEXO, we show that zero-emission mobility is ready for the mass market. And our new concept car shows what future models will look like, again emphasising the future driven spirit and unconventional thinking of our brand,” said Thomas A. Schmid, CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe.

Besides the ambiguity, Hyundai will be displaying the i10, i20, i30 and Special Edition Tucson models. Also, there will be a range of “GO!” Special Edition cars that are finished in the exclusive Champions Blue exterior colour to go with this year’s FIFA World Cup. Hyundai will be Russia’s official partner for the championship.

Perdana V6 was way more advanced than H Sonata, those were the good days.

Actually the Perdana ride was terrible .

As soon as the speedometer touches 110km/hr, the whole car start to wallow like a SAMPAN ( felt kind of light as there is a lot of unsettle rebound from the suspension).

I remember once riding a Perdana back to KL from Kota Baru, once I step out of the Perdana in KL , I felt dizzy and it took me three days to recover from the fatigue.

However, I did not felt those type of dizziness riding inside a hyundai Sonata ( year 2001 ) as the ride is ten fold much more comfortable and controllable than any Perdana. Furthermore , the Sonata body is structurally much more strongly built than any Perdana in those days .

If its vision is to reverse the poor resale value of Korean makes, then it will fail miserably
