VIDEO: F90 BMW M5 arrival confirmed for Malaysia

BMW Malaysia has teased the arrival of the new F90 BMW M5 on its official Facebook page, indicating that the model “is coming,” but didn’t provide an exact date. The latest M5 first made its global debut in August last year, and has already been launched in Thailand.

Under the bonnet, the M5 is equipped with a 4.4 litre twin-turbocharged V8 (600 hp/750 Nm) paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and an Active M Differential. The performance sedan also receives an M xDrive system, making it the first M5 to feature all-wheel drive.

As we found out during our time with one last year, the introduction of all-wheel drive made for elevated dynamics. Even so, fans of old school fun can still fiddle around with the car’s systems to set the car up for tyre shredding duty.

Despite its heft, the M5 is still capable of shaming a few supercars in a 0-100 km/h race, taking just 3.4 seconds to complete the sprint. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but goes up to 305 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package.

The M5 will compete against the W213 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4Matic+, which was launched here in September last year, priced from RM998,888. Pending an official price for the M5, which of the two “super sedans” do you prefer?

  • Despite the sales forecast for Msia in 2018 will be lower (due to owners are holding to their car longer as newer cars are cheaper and affecting the re-sell value), The luxury segment will still grow as this segment is less sensitive to depreciation value

In malaysia, this car is very hard to sell because it is much cheaper to put M5 bodykits, emblems and exhaust on their stand 5 series.

Malaysians just need the car to look like an M5 but it’s ok if it doesn’t drive like one.

So the Ultimate M5 has arrived. This will be challenging the AMG 63 & Audi RS6 for supremacy for the title of best sports sedan on planet earth.

M5 is the benchmark. E63 S is more like a ME Too.

Its totally pointless to buy the standard and boring 5 series when there is this monster M5 for sale. BMW must cease production of the standard BMW models. Haters gonna hate for sure.
No financial problems for a brand new BMW, use and buy the ultimate M models. Case closed bro. Zero discrimination.

Totally true bro, but sadly there are a lot of butthurt senstive Malaysians who dont realise than BMW M, MERCEDES-AMG and AUDI RS models instantly kill their boring and pityful normal model lineup.
You are absolutely true about having able to afford a brand new German car, the person must buy the ultimate models instead of the useless entry level ones.
