X3 in 2026 — what's new

For 2026, the G45 X3 range consists of the 20 xDrive M Sport and 30 xDrive M Sport. The 30 xDrive M Sport is the latest range focus, bringing 255 hp instead of 188 hp and more equipment for RM33,000 extra. Both use a 1,998 cc petrol-hybrid powertrain, all-wheel drive, an automatic transmission and five seats.

Which variant to buy

Most buyers should choose the RM325,800 X3 20 xDrive M Sport. It has the same 1,998 cc petrol-hybrid layout, AWD, automatic transmission and five-seat cabin as the 30, while its 188 hp keeps the initial outlay lower. Pay RM358,800 for the X3 30 xDrive M Sport if 255 hp and the additional equipment matter to you. On paper, the RM33,000 gap buys more power and kit rather than a different drivetrain layout.

Verdict

Cost is the deciding factor. The entry X3 is slightly less expensive than the Volvo XC60 at RM328,888 and Mercedes-Benz GLC at RM329,888. The 30 xDrive M Sport costs RM5,900 more than the Audi Q5, while both X3 variants sit well above the BYD Sealion 7, Zeekr 7X and Tesla Model Y. The 20 is the more measured route into the range; the 30 needs its extra power and equipment to justify the jump.
