Which variant to buy
Most buyers should start with the RM325,800 20 xDrive M Sport. It has the same 1,998 cc petrol-hybrid layout, automatic gearbox, all-wheel drive and five-seat cabin as the 30. Pay RM358,800 for the 30 xDrive M Sport if the extra 67 hp matters to you; the RM33,000 gap is substantial, so its 255 hp output needs to be a real priority rather than a nice-to-have.
Verdict
The X3 sits close to the Volvo XC60 and Mercedes-Benz GLC at entry level: its RM325,800 starting price is below both, though only by a small margin. It is also far dearer than the BYD Sealion 7, Zeekr 7X and Tesla Model Y. The 30 xDrive M Sport costs more than the Audi Q5, so its 255 hp rather than its badge needs to justify the outlay.
