Got your attention, didn’t it? Here’s the Lego Technic version of the mighty Bugatti Chiron, which goes on sale today, June 1. The 1:8-scale model of the world’s fastest car candidate is over 56 cm long, 25 cm wide and 14 cm high and, at a whopping 3,599 pieces, is probably the most detailed Lego model you can buy.

The Danish toymaker has gone to great lengths to preserve many of the hypercar’s distinctive traits, including the horseshoe grille, the signature curved line on the side, ten-spoke wheels with low-profile tyres (achieved using overlapping wheels), disc brakes, the single beam tail light and an active rear wing. The latter has a top speed setting, activated using a speed key – just like the real thing.

Inside, the dashboard, instrument cluster and unique centre line has been replicated, as well as the curvaceous seats constructed through a series of panel, beam, and tile elements. You’ll even find a Bugatti overnight bag in the front boot, as well as movable steering wheel paddle shifters connected to a fully-functioning eight-speed gearbox.

But the literal pièce de résistance is at the back, where you’ll find a full replica of the monstrous 1,500 PS, 1,600 Nm 8.0 litre quad-turbo W16. Each of those 16 pistons is movable thanks to twin crankshafts – something even the 1:1 Chiron doesn’t have. There’s even a working four-wheel drive system, which Lego says gives the model “high-performance handling.”

Available only in two-tone French Blue, the Lego Technic Chiron comes with its own unique serial number in the boot that unlocks special content on the official website. It arrives enclosed in an exclusive box with a “coffee table” collector’s booklet with comprehensive building instructions. There are also nine podcasts for the car online featuring Bugatti and Lego experts.

The Lego Technic Chiron goes on sale at all Lego-certified stores (including Legoland Malaysia) nationwide, and while it’s certainly cheaper than the recently-unveiled €2.85 million (RM13.3 million) 100th Chiron, it’s still gonna cost a pretty penny, retailing at RM1,999.90.

The most detailed Lego technic is millennium falcon, 7,500 pieces.

But this Bugatti is still more than Porsche 911 gt3 at 2,704 pieces. Not bad.

  • Worth the money considering the amount of work, quality and detail that has gone into it. Certainly not expensive for car nuts. If it feeds your passion, why not? Really nice.
