A total of seventeen car clubs from across the country donated RM311,000 to Tabung Harapan Malaysia in conjunction with the ‘Drive to a Greater Malaysia’ charity convoy.

As reported by Bernama, the event was organised by the Weekend Drive Group (WDG) and involved 320 drivers. During the event, WDG chairman Datuk Nordin Ahmad handed over the donation to Amirudin Shari, chairman of Selangor Youth Development, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneurship Development Committee at Dataran Masjid Putra in Putrajaya.

According to Nordin, the donation drive was started on June 1, and was aimed at helping the government with the national debt. Contributions from private individuals and several companies helped to raise RM300,000, with the sale of merchandise during the event providing another RM11,000.

Among the participating clubs were Club Audi Malaysia, Ranger Truckers Club, Lotus Official Club Malaysia, BMW Club Malaysia, RX8 Society, Hilux Club Malaysia and many others.
