Klang Valley commuters, take note. RapidKL has announced that its buses will be adopting a fully cashless payment system from April 15, which is next week. What this means is that the buses will no longer accept cash as fares, but only electronic cards.
Passengers will have to pay either using a Touch n Go card or the Rapid KL Unlimited Pass (My100 and My50). TnG card users will be entitled to 20% off the normal bus fares. Under the cashless system, students, senior citizens and the disabled will still get to enjoy half priced fares, but these groups are required to apply for the MyRapid Touch n Go Concession Card.
Passengers tap their card when boarding and tap again before getting off the bus. Those who do not have a TnG card can purchase one on the bus – the card will cost RM10 with preloaded credit of RM4.80.
The cashless payment system will be rolled out in stages, starting from Ampang routes on April 15. Click on the images above for more details.

We must thank our Government. All these cashless cards are good as it is safer not to hold cash
Our current Government is brilliant. Also the MY50 and MY100 unlimited cards are so useful.
Thank you current Government for all these!!!!
Loke is so clever. Doing so much of work for the rakyat. I think 9 months of work Loke as done is EQUIVALENT to 10 years of work by the previous corrupted regime.
Thank you Loke for all the hard work!
More business for Touch n Go? Hmm….
touch n go owned by cimb.
Travelling to college from Setiawangsa to Shah Alam daily. Most commuters who are Msian citizens already enjoying Unlimited Pass (My100 and My50). Great gov initiative, ppl save a lot.
Malaysia must learn from Singapore how to work more efficiently, clean and fast.
This is why Singapore does so well. They went to cashless completely 25 yrs ago
it’s a stupid move !! what about those people like tourists? just simp;le as that
If u go overseas eg London, HK, Seoul etc as a tourist, the first thing u do is buy a transit card. All tourists so that. I guess u are not familiar with overseas travel. Katak bawah tempurung…
no worries….
blue taxi geng got it covered
When you are travelling in London, you have to buy their Oyster card from the vending machine for your travels as they public transport is cashless. You can always get a refund when you are leaving the UK via the same vending machine. If only Malaysia has the same mechanism then buying and getting refund from TnG will be seamless.
Just buy the card on board the bus.You didn’t read the article properly?Who is more stupid?
Soon citizen will also be cashless (owning no cash).
