Police have detained a man after a viral video showed him waving a “revolver” while driving near One Utama recently. According to Petaling Jaya OCPD assistant commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, the incident took place around 6.15pm on Sunday (May 29, 2022) along the LDP.
“The suspect was seen driving a red Proton Wira and was waving what looked like a gun that was aimed upwards,” Fakhrudin said in a statement. “Acting on a complaint, at 10pm, a police team arrested a 28-year-old man at an apartment in Bandar Sri Damansara,” he continued, adding that a red Proton Wira and a black/red toy gun were also seized.
The driver has since confessed to the incident, saying the toy gun worth RM2.40 belong to his four-year-old child. He claimed he was playing with his child in the car at the time and an initial investigation revealed the suspect had a prior police record.
The case is being investigated under Section 26 of the Arms Act 1960, and if convicted, the suspect can face imprisonment of not more than six months or a fine, or both. Playing or not, waving a weapon while driving is an invitation for the police to come knocking, so don’t try it as there will be consequences.
It’s best to keep your limbs in the car at all times unless you absolutely need to give hand signals (should your car’s indicators fail) to notify other road users of your intentions (changing lanes, for instance) – flipping the bird doesn’t count.

Ppl bashing BMW and Merc dont signal. But Recently, I mean these few years I realise actually it is those Myvi, Proton, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, perodua etc that refuse to use signal and zic zac around. Those so call angkuh BMW and Benz suprisingly actually indicate most of the time and give way to others in hard situation. Thats why ppl always like to choose to cut in front or get out from juction infront of luxury car. They actually quite forgiving unlike us the normal average car brand. Ofcourse there also those old bm and benz that behave retardly especially those second hand or charffeur driven.
Their cars are nice, no point to knock with cheap car. Even thought my car is just worth 150k but I will always let those kancil, viva, myvi go first. Just let them be if they think that their time is very precious!
