Chery Insurance Program for Omoda 5, Tiggo 8 Pro

Chery Malaysia has launched the Chery Insurance Program (CIP), which is described as an innovative insurance offering that provides customers with ‘an unparalleled level of coverage and peace of mind’ throughout their ownership journey.

The CIP sees Chery partner with major insurance providers Etiqa, Allianz and Berjaya Sompo. It includes agreed value and no betterment of up to 12 years, no excess fee for additional drivers and speedy claims approval of up to RM20,000.

The insurance programme for Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro owners also includes 24/7 roadside assistance and unlimited towing, limited special peril of up to RM20,000, key care cover of up to RM2,000, accident inconvenience allowance of RM50 and personal accident (PA) coverage of RM20,000.

By the way, Chery Malaysia is offering a pretty lengthy warranty at seven years or 150,000 km. There’s also a five-year maintenance package which gives free labour (excluding parts) for every alternate service. There’s an option for a 10-year, one million km engine warranty for an extra RM2,000. Early birds received this extra long engine warranty for free, but the introductory offer has since expired.

We’ve covered Chery’s comeback extensively, from an exclusive in December 2021 that broke the news of the company’s re-entry to Malaysia, to the official launch event on July 6. Between those, there was a preview session in October 2022 and we also showed you some interesting models from Chery’s domestic market. Click on the links to follow the journey.

  • Will the insurance still enforce if they suddenly decided pull another ditching stunt?

Spreading fake news again? Even when they first downsized their operation in Malaysia, they have commited to all their warranty to all their customers in Malaysia before leaving temporarily. None of their customers got cheated. You not worry of bad karma for spreading lies? Maybe you are suffering bad luck and poor success already. Now you know why

Just checked this car out yesterday. I am serious. This car is no joke. Really looks good in real life. The inside is better than most german cars. Pay 100k but get a >250k car. Don’t take my words for it. Go test then you know. Now thinking hard between this and BYD dolphin. I want EV but this car is bigger and nicer. Dilema now
