There are two versions of the Toyota Hilux GR Sport. Malaysia gets the “mild version” that isn’t as visually aggressive, while over in Australia, the sporty pick-up truck comes with a widebody kit that makes it look a lot more menacing.
However, the Fortuner GR Sport, which is the SUV sibling to the Hilux, only gets one look without a widebody kit, but what if it did? Well, that’s exactly what Theophilus Chin has dreamt up with these renders of a widebody Fortuner GR Sport. Like it?
Drawing inspiration from the widebody Hilux GR Sport, the transformation involves applying a new, larger grille that bears the Toyota script, while the bumper is swapped out for a more rugged-looking one with strong creases around the fog lamps and a robust skid plate and underguard.
The now-red wider body is achieved though wheel arch extensions, with those at the front connected to the bumper. More prominent mud guards are also part of the digital overhaul, and the end product is furnished with chunkier tyres fitted to off-road-ready wheels.
What do you think of Theo’s work? Is it more appealing than the current Fortuner GR Sport sold in Thailand? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
