Tesla Supercharger at Sunway Pyramid – RM1.25 per kWh; RM5/hour parking fee; RM4/minute idle fee

Tesla Malaysia has announced it has launched the first Supercharger station in Selangor at Sunway Pyramid. According to the company, the Sunway Pyramid station is the third to be added to the Supercharger network here and there are currently 16 Superchargers in the country.

Four of them are located in front of the main entrance at the valet parking areas of Sunway Pyramid. The V3 Superchargers there can each deliver a peak DC output of 250 kW, which can help a Model 3 gain 282 km of range with just 15 minutes of being plugged in.

The station is operational 24 hours and it’ll cost you RM1.25 per kWh. There’s also a parking charge of RM5 per hour while charging, along with an idle fee (the duration that your car is occupying the bay but not charging) up to RM4 per minute when the station is fully occupied.

These lots will be “ICEd” aka taken up by ICE cars as parking. Just wait for it.

Not just a Malaysian thing, it happens everywhere because of EV hate. Forgot which MY charging operator, but they have the right idea by installing those parking barriers on the ground that you need to open up with an app. Just to deal with these haters

for model 3, it consumed 62.5kwh for 282km with charging cost of rm78.125 at the station.

if it home, it cost +- RM 40.

with all the math + time etc, i stick with Primax 95/97.

if the owner stays in klang valley & usually drives to & from work at least 5 days a week with the occasional shopping trip at least once a week in the same area, he/she will find that battery recharging at home every night would be sufficient, given the car’s range on a single charge.

thanks for this. yeah seems like electric cars will still be a rich persons toy for the time being. it just doesn’t make sense for Malaysians (yet). not to mention even the cheapest electric car is 100k. the majority in malaysia still can’t afford that.
