Zeekr Malaysia has officially announced it is now accepting bookings for the Zeekr X – you can submit your interest here. If you aren’t aware of Zeekr, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker is a brand under Geely and its impending launch here has been known since June this year.
We’ll start with the most important thing: pricing. The X estimated at below RM180k. Built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), the X shares its platform with the smart #1 and #3 as well as the Volvo EX30.
Comparing starting prices among the SEA-based electric vehicles (EVs), the X at RM180k undercuts the EX30 which retails from RM188,888, but is more expensive than the #1 and #3 that start from RM169k and RM175k respectively. If you’re curious about the X’s size, here’s an overview of the four SEA-based models:
Zeekr X
- Length: 4,432 mm
- Width: 1,836 mm
- Height: 1,566 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,750 mm
smart #1
- Length: 4,270 mm
- Width: 1,822 mm
- Height: 1,636 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,750 mm
smart #3

- Width: 1,844 mm
- Height: 1,566 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,785 mm
Volvo EX30

- Width: 1,836 mm
- Height: 1,550 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,650 mm
The X will be offered in two variants, namely the Premium RWD and Flagship AWD. This is similar to Singapore, which gets the electric crossover in rear- and all-wheel drive guises. Both variants feature a nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery with a net energy capacity of 66 kWh (69 kWh gross), with the Premium RWD capable of 440 km of range following the WLTP standard.
The base variant’s electric motor is rated at 272 PS (268 hp or 200 kW) and 343 Nm of torque, which enables a 0-100 km/h time of 5.6 seconds. As for the Flagship AWD, its dual-motor setup has outputs of 428 PS (422 hp or 315 kW) and 543 Nm for a century sprint time of 3.8 seconds at the expense of range that is up to 420 km.
Both have the same top speed of 190 km/h and support DC fast charging at a peak capacity of 150 kW, enabling a 10-80% state of charge in around 30 minutes. AC charging wasn’t mentioned but following Singapore’s spec, the max capacity should be 7.2 kW for the Premium RWD and 11 kW for the Flagship AWD – a full charge takes about seven hours.
Standard equipment for the X includes full LED headlamps, LED DRLs, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Seven airbags and a full ADAS suite are also mentioned, the latter including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, lane centring control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, front and rear cross traffic alert, assisted parking and driver monitoring.
The release also mentions five available colours: namely Crystal White, Mist Grey, Grid Grey, Palace Beige and Pine Green. Meanwhile, the interior only comes in a single two-tone scheme: Charcoal Black and Stone Grey.
So, what do you think of the Zeekr X? Would you pick it over other SEA-based EVs, namely the Volvo EX30 and smart #1? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

yeah, nobody stop us for buying such a cheap car, unlike cheapest rot roti.
except your bank account, probably cant even qualify for 9 years loan
Still obsessed by western media…lol
Don’t jump into cconclusion yet when this car not launched yet
based on your massive downvotes from all over the post, can easily predicted this roti shi!t was full of crap comment.
Memang roti canai mindset, you want this car to sell as cheap as axia? Makanlah roti canai everyday to save money boy
Given the price, I can’t help but to compare with XPeng G6. Both are China brands, but XPeng G6 is under Bermaz, more reputable compared to Zeekr distributor.
I saw the G6 a couple days ago, the orange colour looks very nice. After I did some reading on the brand I was surprise that they sell it around 165K. Looks nicer and more premium than Mazda CX-5 in the same price range.
Depends. But Xpeng and Zeekr looks better and more premium inside out. Besides Xpeng also can’t able to compare with this car as Zeekr X is SUV while Xpeng is Coupe SUV
For me, the Xpeng is a no brainer if it was more compact. It’s a Tesla rival in terms of engineering prowess and AI software. Unfortunately, some people like me doesn’t want such a long and heavy car and I’m probably heading the way of Smart#1 for my next purchase. Hopefully the Zeekr X launch can drop the Smart #1 price heh.
That kind of price for a new brand in Malaysia a bit susah to sell leh. This is even more than the Zeekr 7x price in China by a huge margin.
This ZeekrX is supposed to be the entry level to the Zeekr brand, a volume seller that brings in the customer to experience the brand.
yeah, i couldnt imagine how much they will price Zeekr 7X when they eventually comes here.
Nice
Wonderful
Just bring in BYD Seagull. This for the majority masses rather than the elite few filthy rich.
Head scratcher, why is BYD Atos3 selling so well with the Xpeng G6 and Smart #1 only slightly more expensive? I guess the early bird really gets the sales.
Affordable and nice
Genuine question here. Where is the showroom?
they have one in glenmarie. next to Honda HZN service center
It always the case, when the car launch in MY, the seat became black or dark color
Powerful car
Nice car but ughh boring interior colour again…
