2025 Zeekr X gets 25% price cut in China as price war mounts, now from RM83k for new 49 kWh base model

The Zeekr X, which was only launched in China last year, has already been given a substantial price cut as the price war in the Middle Kingdom continues to mount.

The compact electric SUV, equipped with a 66 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, now retails at 165,000 yuan (RM101,400) for the single-motor version and 179,000 yuan (RM110,000) with all-wheel drive – down from the previous prices of 200,000 yuan (RM122,900) and 220,000 yuan (RM135,200) respectively.

New for the 2025 model year is an entry-level rear-wheel drive model with a 49 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which Car News China reports was introduced in response to slow sales. This drops the starting price by 25.5% to 149,000 yuan (RM91,500), with a 15,000 yuan (RM9,200) government subsidy slashing this figure further to 134,900 yuan (RM82,800).

The base 49 kWh model has a range of 420 km on the CLTC cycle, down from 560 km for the RWD 66 kWh version and 512 km with AWD. For reference, the smart #1 Pro with the same battery and 272 PS (200 kW) motor has a more realistic WLTP range of 315 km, compared to the 440 km achieved by the 66 kWh Premium (and the equivalent Zeekr X, incidentally).

Beyond that, the 49 kWh version’s performance figures remain identical to the 66 kWh’s, including peak torque of 343 Nm and a zero-to-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the AWD model pushes out 428 PS (315 kW) and 543 Nm, enabling the car to complete the century sprint in 3.7 seconds.

Aside from the smaller battery option, the tweaks introduced for MY2025 are minor and include a new Oslo Black hue and a new 18-inch alloy wheel option with a pentagonal design, the latter already offered in other markets. The rest of the car, including its funky design, minimalist interior, large 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen (which can be slid over to the passenger’s side as an option), 13-speaker Yamaha sound system and available four-seat layout, is unchanged.

The Zeekr X is set to be launched in Malaysia soon, with the order books having already been open since early last month. Both 66 kWh RWD and AWD options are set to be offered here, estimated to be priced below the RM180,000. Would you like to see the cheaper 49 kWh model come to our shores? Sound off in the comments after the jump.

Abolish the RM100k Sales Price of EV sales in Malaysia. This will MAKE all EV companies to SELL at the BEST PRICE due to competition. Now there is “JUST ROBBING the POOR to HELP the ELITES”. Why ???

With the available information of how much this thing is selling in China, people tend to compare to local pricing and wow… felted a bit on the short change side if it’s RM 180k for the AWD

Price war is always a good war for consumers. However in Malaysia, price war is different. Here we fight who has the highest price. Every new PM wants to show who can naik harga barang the most

Don’t blame Zeekr. Blame our gov la for AP and tax. Nothing new in Malaysia. We have been paying double for cars from Japan and Europe all the while. This is considered very good price already

Somebody will start to cry why China price so cheap and Malaysia price so expensive……hello, China Local and Central Goverment subsidies to their EV car industries from battery production to steels to give cash rebate for their EVs for their car sold in China. We cannot use that as benchmark for car sold outside China. Do we expect our goverment to give all these subsidies to Malaysia car, sold out side Malaysia? Neither China will.
