2026 Lexus ES facelift leaked – larger touchscreen, subtly-revised headlamps, full-width rear light strip

Based on pics leaked on Chinese social media, some looking like they came from the owner’s manual, it seems the seventh-gen XZ10 Lexus ES is going to get a second facelift. Time to play a not-easy game of spot the difference.

The Z-shaped DRLs are now at the ends of the headlamps instead of below them on the incumbent XZ10 facelift. The spindle grille’s internal pattern has also changed from the non-F Sport’s ASEAN logo-like flowing lines to detached elements – closer to what you see on the LBX, LM, RX and NX. The tail lamps are now bridged by a full-width light strip, and the tail lamp graphics are perhaps very subtly revised, if at all.

Inside, the central touchscreen is a lot larger, looking very much like the 14-inch unit you see on Lexus’ newer models. As a result of the bigger screen, the centre stack is redesigned, and it appears that the row of physical air-con and multimedia buttons that used to sit below the air vents are now gone. There could also be a new digital instrument panel, and is that a reshaped gear knob?

At any rate, it could be next year before the model surfaces, so we’ll see then if the changes are more than just skin deep. The ES sits on the TNGA-K platform shared with the XV70 and new XV80 Toyota Camry. The seventh-gen XZ10 Lexus ES was born in 2018 before getting facelifted in 2021, launching in Malaysia that October in ES 250 Premium, ES 250 Luxury and ES 250 F Sport variants.
