A police vehicle believed to be escorting a VIP hit the rear of a civilian Proton Saga at KM 259 of the PLUS highway on Saturday, November 16, in the rain. Bernama reports that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) is investigating the crash.
Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said that the department was aware of the incident involving two vehicles and is investigating the case to obtain more information.
“The public who have information regarding the crash are encouraged to provide information to complete the investigation,” Bernama quoted him as saying.
A video making the social media rounds, appearing to employ dashcam footage from the Saga in question, shows a police Proton X70 first clearing the way for the convoy in rainy, low-visibility conditions.
A dark-coloured vehicle with strobe lights then follows at speed, lane-splitting and hitting the Saga. A child is then heard crying before the video cuts to the Saga’s badly-damaged rear. A white Toyota Camry, not seen in the dashcam footage, is also shown with a broken left headlamp – cause unknown.

I pity that woman. From the video, she was driving carefully and safely. And yet still suffers someone’s stupidity! Maybe someone should petitiones to ban all VViPs from using the road! Any way PDRM, just pay her la! the recording clearly showed your officers’s “competent driving skill”! It’s only a SAGA but maybe that’s her ONLY car. Without her daily car, her mobility is severely affected.

One time on the way to putrajaya I think 5 vip with escort passed by. Always forcing other road users to the left.

Proper procedure for clearing vehicles should be made public. I’ve been involved in an accident caused by police suddenly stopping busy traffic to let a VIP pass.
In the end the cop just pretended like nothing happened and continued on. Earn people’s respect rather than act entitled to it. Courtesy and common sense is all it takes. Keep on disregarding other people’s safety, someone’s gonna get killed.

This story is strange, video show only the Saga was hit but how come later got white Camry also kena, how come? Anyhow polis will claim they ady give siren and those cars did not give way so its justified to whack them, the Gomen appointed judges will agree, ini semue salah Saga & Camry, case closed.

Why must law abiding citizens give way to a penjara van?
Even if the penjara van is sending a banduan to attend mahkamah,why cant they go earlier,instead of getting caught in the already bad Cheras jams,and every car has to swerve suddenly to let them pass.
