Another day, another sighting of the upcoming 2025 Proton Saga MC3, but this time we have a very clear rear view – the tail lamp shapes are definitely new, suggesting an update bigger than a minor change.
Proton has confirmed that we’ll get a new AMA-based Saga this year, and this could be it. It’s rumoured to carry the internal code P2-14A or AMA01. The current P2-13A third-gen Saga is already nine years old and has been facelifted twice (2019 and 2022).
The test mule’s body panels and overall shape are similar to the current Saga, though – we hope that this is merely a disguise and the production car will have new body panels, or it wouldn’t be so AMA-zing. Whether it will have a Proton or Geely engine is still unknown.
The car was recently spotted together with a trade-plated third-gen facelift Perodua Myvi, sparking talk of benchmarking. While the two cars belong to different segments, possible comparison parameters are the Myvi’s ADAS, refinement, packaging, performance and efficiency.

semua ingat saga, actually bezza baru
Everyone wants new engine but Geely has been dumping the dated 1.5L TGDi 3Cyl that has been removed from China for years and also being removed at all international market except Malaysia so having new Geely engine is unlikely.
I saw the new Boyeu from China…here the X70 facelift only.
Seems Geely is treating us to a raw deal..all obsolete models while Geely conquere new markets with new new models.
It is like the time we got the first Iswara using outdated Mitsubishi engine.
Will it be as light feather-weight as bezza? With minimal steel, more plastic and thin glass to gain fuel efficiency with mini size engine?
Can’t see fuel cap on the left like x50, so likely still campro not geely engine.
LOL my foreman just swapped campro vvt cvt into his 2010 maibi, now driving feels more power and less frequent needs to pump fuel.
I’m very proud Proton continues utilizing its own Proton Saga platform for producing latest Proton Saga model, unless that platform has been technologically revamped and extra important safety features (ADAS) are successfully fitted.
Disappointed it’s still so ugly.
