Proton eMas 7 exceeds 4,500 bookings, over 1,000 units delivered; short wait for Premium, Prime in stock

The Proton eMas 7 electric vehicle has now exceeded 4,500 bookings since the start of order-taking, Proton has revealed. A total of 580 units of the eMas 7 were delivered to customers in the month of February, for a total of more than 1,000 units having been delivered to customers so far, according to Proton.

The eMas 7 had exceeded the 4,000 booking mark last month, which would mean that the electric model has received somewhere in the region of 500 bookings since then. Although the rate of bookings may appear to have taken a downturn since the model’s official launch in December 2024, it is an expected pattern for most EV models as interest in the product typically tapers down after the initial hype.

Conversely, this should mean that waiting periods for the eMas 7 should not be too long, as the case was with highly popular models such as the X50, which initially had a waiting list stretching beyond six months from the date of its launch.

Availability of the eMas 7 depends on the variant; paultan.org understands that the waiting period for the Premium variant is up to one month, depending on colour, and units in less popular colours may be in stock. Meanwhile, the Prime variant is readily available in most dealers.

From launch, the Proton eMas 7 range starts with the Prime at RM105,800, while the Premium is priced at RM119,800 on-the-road excluding insurance, with the early-bird discount for the first 6,000 customers. In terms of powertrain, both variants employ a single 218 PS/320 Nm motor driving the front wheels, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 175 km/h.

Battery specifications differ between the variants, with the Prime getting a 49.52 kWh short-blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Aegis battery by Geely, which offers a range of 345 km on the WLTP testing standard. The Premium gets a 60.22 kWh battery pack, good for 410 km of range (WLTP).

The front bumper of this car is UGLY, suggesting that it has been involved in an accident.

    • Seen a white one and it looks pretty good. One of those designs that look better in the metal than in photos. Only minus is the front badge is awkwardly positioned.

  • How many years already since the launch of X70 and you still talking as if Proton just started to rebadge Geely cars? This kind of argument is getting stale tbh
