iX1 in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the standard-wheelbase BMW iX1 carries on as the eDrive20 M Sport. The previous iX1 xDrive30 has been dropped in Malaysia, leaving the 204 hp eDrive20 as the current U11 EV line-up. BMW has also added the iX1 L/eDrive20L M Sport locally, but that is the long-wheelbase model; the regular iX1 here remains the RM250,800 car with 475 km range.

Verdict
The iX1 is easy to understand: an electric X1 with 475 km of range and one Malaysian spec. The harder part is the price. At RM250,800, it costs far more than entry electric SUVs such as the Perodua QV-E, Seres 3 and BYD Atto 2, and it is slightly above the Volvo EC40. It is for buyers set on the BMW compact SUV format.
