Overview
The BMW X7 is the flagship SUV in BMW’s X range, a G07 LCI executive SUV for buyers who want something larger and more luxury-biased than an X5. In Malaysia it starts from RM630,800, with xDrive40i petrol-hybrid power, an automatic gearbox and seven seats across the current range.
X7 in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the X7 carries on in Malaysia as the G07 LCI range launched in 2023, with no 2026-specific Malaysian update announced. The line-up remains xDrive40i Design Pure Excellence and xDrive40i M Sport, both based on the CKD facelift model with a 48V mild-hybrid xDrive40i setup. The 2023 updates also included iDrive 8.5 via OTA, while the M Sport launch brought ACC with stop and go.

Which variant to buy
Start with the xDrive40i Design Pure Excellence at RM630,800. It gets the same 2,998 cc petrol-hybrid engine, 375 hp output, automatic gearbox and seven-seat layout as the xDrive40i M Sport at RM694,800, so on paper you are not paying for more power or more seats. The RM64,000 gap buys the M Sport trim direction; pay it only if that look and its equipment list matter to you.

BMW X7 buyer's guides & reviews
Verdict
The X7’s brief is simple: go beyond the X5 in size and luxury, with the flagship-X positioning that BMW did not have before. It costs more than a Porsche Cayenne from RM609,000 and far more than a Volkswagen Touareg from RM384,972, so this is not the bargain route into a big executive SUV. The case rests on the seven-seat xDrive40i package and the sheer scale of the thing.
