Production Nissan Micra compact car spied in China – the sketch was better!

What’s happened here is actually quite common in the auto industry – a decent looking sketch ends up translated into a not very appealing production model.

These leaked set of next generation Nissan Micra/March photos were leaked from Dongfeng Nissan production lines as the Chinese JV prepares to assemble it in China. It’s expected to run a HR16DE and a 4-speed auto/5-speed manual combo in China, but there’s probably also the HR15DE and a CVT transmission to choose from for other market needs.

November 10, 2009 @ 2:49 am
aduh….so different
November 10, 2009 @ 2:49 am
Hahaha…obviously painful isn’t?
Nice sketches turns out to be a productions that is not-so-easy-on-the-eyes…
Appealing really does matter in automotive industry.
Good luck Nissan.
November 10, 2009 @ 3:07 am
Not that nice to look at, but current one is not a looker either.
November 10, 2009 @ 5:19 am
rear end could be a lil sporty , priced wisely , may appeal to ABJs ( asal boleh jalan ) , overall, uninteresting forgettable model.
Is it me or everyone also notices that japanese cars comes in rotation
pretty , ugly , pretty , ugly , pretty , ugly …..
November 10, 2009 @ 7:24 am
Many Nissan cars are stupid cut-cost car? Without telescopic steering like the STUPID Sylphy(ugly, thin like an Avanza). Can you hear me Nissan? The C and D segment cars and your X-trail should have TELESCOPIC steering!!!
November 10, 2009 @ 8:10 am
This is what you get for a ‘cap ayam’ Nissan, made in China.
November 10, 2009 @ 8:11 am
still acceptable, not that bad lah…
November 10, 2009 @ 8:20 am
this is bad….the last one was so good
November 10, 2009 @ 8:49 am
yarkh……smell like China Panda car, bad design taste….i’ll definitely think it is a China local brand car if it without the Nissan emblem.
November 10, 2009 @ 9:25 am
Remember the Nissan Versa, the Nissan Latio sport hatchback sketch? The sketch was better and impressive, but the real product is kind of dissapointed.
November 10, 2009 @ 9:26 am
its always the case because we still have technology limitation in making body parts with certain curvatures and also financial reasons. So sketches always look good until they try and produce it.
November 10, 2009 @ 9:51 am
previous one better…
November 10, 2009 @ 10:10 am
Hopefully this car is China market only,
November 10, 2009 @ 10:19 am
Looks ok….
Looks better if slap on some bodykits, rims etc.
November 10, 2009 @ 10:37 am

November 10, 2009 @ 11:23 am

November 10, 2009 @ 11:56 am
i think before this tan chong would like to bring in smaller model here. if the smaller model is this spyshot model.. a little bit dissappointed la coz looks like cherry r…
November 10, 2009 @ 12:25 pm
I’m a designer, from my point of view, it actually appear exactly like the sketch..just chane the rim to a bigger one,it makes a huge different..
November 10, 2009 @ 12:44 pm
they might as well reproduce the nissan march from 1997
November 10, 2009 @ 1:37 pm
when production made in China, its looks awful same like Chana mpv one…hahaha!!!
November 10, 2009 @ 5:01 pm
hahaha…. these sketch like ghost!!!!! UGLY!!!! CHEAP IDEA!!!!!
November 10, 2009 @ 5:19 pm
Like old generation Yaris, but little uglier from the rear view
November 10, 2009 @ 5:34 pm
Seriously, drawing is just a plain visual draft and no measurement will be taken. For sure the outcome of the car will be differ from the drawing sketched.
Some more this is made in China, means it will penetrade the China market for sure. Cost reduction is a prime topic here.
November 10, 2009 @ 6:30 pm
WTF!!! Ugly nissan
November 10, 2009 @ 6:53 pm
very very ugly
November 10, 2009 @ 7:06 pm
All the futuristic curves in the sketch didnt make it to the end product. If it did turn out exactly as drawn though, I think the price for this thing would have gone up couple notches.
November 10, 2009 @ 8:17 pm
march K10 superturbo itz how should it b!
November 10, 2009 @ 8:20 pm
agreeddddddd!!!!no more march after K10st…
November 10, 2009 @ 9:59 pm
made in china sucks
November 10, 2009 @ 10:13 pm
what the……… +_+
something is wrong with nissan, even the new 370Z is not appealing as the old 350Z…..
they should learn from continental cars like peugeot…
look what peugeot did with RCZ….the production one which is gonna be released this spring 2010 looks exactly like what they designed earlier on for the concept…..
November 11, 2009 @ 12:48 am
