Porsche 997 V-RT Edition Turbo

Vorsteiner V-RT (Vorsteiner Race Technologies) has revealed a new styling package for the 997 Porsche 911 Carrera. The styling package consists of an aerodynamic body kit as well as a new set of wheels.

The aerodynamic body kit, which is mostly made of carbon fiber features larger front air intakes, a new rear bumper with twin-finned carbon fiber rear diffuser for the quad exhaust and larger side vents to improve airflow, a carbon fiber wing that help improves downforce and a carbon composite engine lid with extra air scoops to channel more air into this 997. Just like the GT2 version, Vorsteiner had to let the front fog lamps lose, to make way for a removable carbon fiber front spoiler.

The new 20-inch V306 wheels feature a twin, 7 spoke design with a centre mesh. These wheels are wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 sports tires. Please continue reading to view an image gallery.

because thats exactly what their customers want. and porsche has more customers than any sports car or supercar maker in the world.. so who are we to say they are wrong?

Seriously i can differentiate a Porsche 911 and 991 or 996 or 999 or 888 or 666. All the same to me.

  • da same design manage to get steady sales so why must they change?

but they must realize dat younger generation prefer the modern+futuristic design like the new GTR

so i wonder how da next gen porsche will look like, when their customer segmentation shifted…

    cheers~

thats actually a very interesting thing to think about.. the GTR vs porsche battle.. we all know on the track, the GTR seems to have won the first battle.. but only time will tell if the GTR will actually make a traditional porsche buyer buy a GTR.

my own personal opinion is, i dont think it will do that.. the GTR will continue to attract the japanese performance fans, playstation generation type of buyers. while the porsche will continue to attract its kind of buyers which i think will never want to be seen in a GTR.. these cars exude a very different type of image.

likewise with the M3.. its not the most powerful car on the market.. there are heaps of cars from mercedes, and audi as well as japanese counterparts that have more power… but it still doesnt stop the M3 from selling in huge numbers.

theres always this discussion i hear at teh tarik sessions.. would you buy an M3, or an EVO10? i think its the same with the porsche and GTR.

market segments wont shift, unless the company themselves want to shift target audiences.
