Paris 2010: Ford Fiesta RS WRC really looks the part

Here’s something for Ford Fiesta fans to salivate over. The Fiesta RS WRC is Ford’s challenger to Loeb and team for next season’s World Rally Championship. Based on the Fiesta S2000 from the IRC, the Fiesta WRC will be powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged Ecoboost engine capable of 300 hp. Ford, M-Sport and French company Pipo Moteur worked on this car.

The Fiesta WRC will undergo its first major test next week in Spain, where pilots Jari-Matti Latvala and Mikko Hirvonen will try the car for the first time. Its race debut will be at the Rally of Sweden in February 2011.

Danny Tan loves driving as much as he loves a certain herbal meat soup, and sweet engine music as much as drum beats. He has been in the auto industry since 2006, previously filling the pages of two motoring magazines before joining this website. Enjoys detailing the experience more than the technical details.
