This is the latest design update for the Toyota FT-86 Concept called the Toyota FT-86 II Concept, and it must be quite ready for production as Toyota have announced that the production car will be launched in 2012.
The FT-86 II Concept measures 4,235mm long, 1,795mm wide and 1,270mm tall with a 2,570mm wheelbase. It’s got a shorter wheelbase and length than the Mazda RX-8 but it’s a wee bit wider and lower.
Power comes from a boxer engine mated to a lightweight 6-speed manual gearbox, and that’s about all that Toyota reveals on what’s in the engine bay at the moment – no power figures or specs for now. It does power the rear wheels though, so with the right kind of power to weight ratio this could be one fun car to drive.

I’m gonna start saving now…
i wonder how much it will cost here in damn boleh land…
but i’m pretty sure u can’t afford it!
FYL, even you yourself think you’re no good, you’re probably rite!!!
The new design looks too rounded. Some accents from Lexus CT200h 5 ?
isn’t lexus n toyota the same company?
Bold and beautiful. Futuristic design with a promising package. Thanks Toyota for making it possible for us :) A whole new different diversity of FT86.
If I’m the CEO of Toyota,I think it would be more profitable to make this a Lexus instead. The brand name of Toyota no longer brings the term,”sporty” to mind.At least Lexus got the luxurious feel. And can even market ths as a lil bro for Lexus LFA.In fact, they even look rather alike!
This would fall under the category of junior sports car league, where the Celica, Silvia, Integra, Prelude, FTO and MX-3 once played a huge part in.
This was not meantt to be a luxury and comfy cruiser, it’s meant to be a sports car.
Hence, i don’t think they’ll badge this as a Lexus.
Junior sports car??From the look of it,I’d say this is more in line with 370Z.
If dump in subaru 2.5 turbo engine, should be able to get ~4.5s to hit 100km/h.
Doesn’t look like super car that can hit 300km/h, not much of aerodynamic element.
Anyway, should be a very practical and fun junior sports car.
ah those ah beng forte owner gonna hate+love this…love the car but hate it cause the badge isn’t Kia…and bash this car for having bad FC compared to their Kia forte….
k la joking….hehe…=p
this is beast…!!!
thanks goodness you’re NOT
I know, rite??If I really am,I’ll market even the Passo as Lexus.LOL!!And sell it to Aston Martin!!Yeah!
Supra Replacement
WoooWeee Superb
super duper cool…
but the front look of previous G sport version is better
i quite admire the FT86-1, cleaner design; but this is mind blowing in your face look; I WANT BOTH
will u marry me?
Look at those rims~!
Its got ‘Yakuza’ written all over it….
Damn nice!!!! Gorgeous looking car. Hope Toyota engineers keep the weight of the car as minimum as possible. Too heavy, not nice to dori-dori!!!!
The side profile is really Lexus LF-A alike lol.
look like a rear air diffuser between the exhaust to increase downforce at high speed….
well done toyota! the long overdue lightweight RWD drift machine that would make the world a better place..
Awesome !
this car look very super familiar…
one of the hybrid car at the KL motorshow i think. white coloured is it not?
This will be my track car if it’s priced below 35k Euros.
Very fierce looking black monster !!!
ini kereta taiko gengster….haha…
cant believe this car is designed by toyota, too good to be true, well done, now if only they can design the vios and altis this good then i can afford a ‘sporty’ looking car
what engine and gearbox???
what was the kerb weight of this car??
fantastic machine….
concept 1 looks much more simpler and better..this concept 2 is a little overdone…
Had to agreed with ya.. its like an overcooked steak…a bit too “well done”, served its too little sauce
‘Power comes from a boxer engine mated to a lightweight 6-speed manual gearbox”
Subaru’s 2 litres turbo perhaps?
N.A only…. HP should be low…
Nicely design…..
This FT86 cannot change my legendary AE86…
Can this car drift? I want to see this car in drift action…
Anyway, THIS CAR ARE REALLY DAMM BEAUTIFUL and sexy!!!!
thee ass, i just cant stop staring at the ass… need to start saving now..
how good it is if the front lights are flapping like the old school 86, but aerodynamic wise for sure will be a big headache lol..
wow…toyobaru ..what a perfect matched….
walau leh… NICE!!!
really like the FT-86 & FT-HS
Nice car! Long time coming from Toyota. This could be powered by a turbocharged boxer engine..
Hope that Toyota will come up with more outstanding design like this legend-in-the-making car for its entire vehicle line up. Bravo Toyota. Initial D spirit has been rerived again, Takumi.
