The childhood heroes of yesteryear used to drive high-octane, turbocharged sports machines, but times they are a-changing. Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is providing an i-MiEV to take children for rides at Petrosains (Level 4, Suria KLCC) from August 8 to October 28, as part of its e-Heroes programme, which aims to raise Electric Vehicle (EV) and eco-friendly awareness among the younger generation.
Apart from the all-electric, zero-emissions experience, children can also delight in fun activities such as colouring, origami, interactive displays, mini science shows and workshops, at certain hours. Admission is free and opening hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays (closed on Mondays) and 9.30am to 6.30pm on weekends.
“We are truly pleased to collaborate with Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia as we provide the opportunity for society, especially the younger generation, to understand and appreciate the world around us, especially the environment, through engaging and interactive activities,” said Petrosains CEO Tengku Nasariah.
Last October, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV became the first fully-electric car to be registered in Malaysia, while the second unit was registered earlier this year. We’ve actually written a lot about this versatile vehicle – in racing car, police car and even van guises! – but if you need a technical refresher on the original car then you need look no further than our report here, or a test drive report here.
