Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition – subtle shiny bits for the Panamera 4 and Panamera Diesel

The Porsche Panamera has been in the local news lately, after a bold thief walked into the Porsche showroom in downtown KL last week and coolly drove off a gold example. Had this one been there, he might not have picked it, because it’s less shiny than it sounds.

The Platinum Edition, available as the entry level Panamera 4 and Panamera Diesel, features subtle design features in platinum silver metallic combined with expanded standard features and exclusive details.

The lower half of the wing mirrors, the air-inlet grille lamellas, the air vent grille on the side designed specifically for the turbo model, the trim on the trunk lid and the rear diffuser are all in platinum silver metallic. They interplay with five exterior finish colours solid black or white, metallic basalt black, metallic carbon grey and metallic mahogany lacquer finishes.

Inside, there’s a new black/luxor beige bi-colour combination. A part-leather interior comes as standard, with a full leather package optionally available. Other highlights include the standard sport design steering wheel and the Porsche crest on the front and rear headrests as well as the insignia “Platinum Edition” on the front door trim strips.

Many frequently requested extras are standard here. These include bi-xenons, front parking assist, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors and 19-inch Panamera Turbo alloys. Also included are Power Steering Plus, front seat and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation The latter has a seven-inch TFT touchscreen and eleven speakers with a combined output of 235 watts.
