BMW has released some pictures and details of a special edition of its 1 Series Coupe and Convertible that’s set to debut at NAIAS Detroit 2013. Called the Limited Edition Lifestyle, the new package can be specified on most engine variants, adding mainly cosmetic details.
The kidney grille gets white decorative trim; its bars are white with chromed fronts. Window recess and side window surrounds are finished in Chrome Line, while the tailpipes can be had in matt chrome or black chrome (the latter for 135i and 123d).
Buyers can choose the exclusive Mineral White metallic paint, as well as Sapphire Black metallic and Space Grey metallic. The Convertible gets a brown soft top with silver pigmentation that can generate “fascinating light effects.” 18-inch light twin-spoke alloys are the order of the day.
The interior benefits from brown leather trim with white contrast stitching, a matching brown sports leather steering wheel, specially badged door sill strips, Fineline Stream wood trim, dark-coloured headlining and floor carpets with colour-coordinated piping.
The Limited Edition Lifestyle package can also be combined with the M Sport package, which offers an M black leather steering wheel.
BMW’s Detroit show line-up will comprise the Concept 4 Series Coupe, M6 Gran Coupe and the updated Z4, as well as ActiveHybrid models.
