Here’s a Challenger with a bit more flavour, the 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker. The key to the name is on the hood – the legendary “cold-air grabbing” Shaker not only looks good with its Satin Black hood scoop, snorkeling up from the engine compartment, it also directs cooler air back into the 5.7 litre HEMI V8 engine.
And like the original 1970 Challenger R/T with the Shaker hood, the new 2014 model continues the Dodge tradition of an engine-mounted hood scoop that “shakes” with the powertrain’s movement. There’s a beast in there, and you’ll want to see it move! Also standard is a Mopar cold-air intake, conical air filter and optimised air box for improved airflow and performance.
In addition to its driver-selectable sport-mode powertrain calibration, performance-tuned suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and steering calibration, the Shaker includes the Super Track Pak, with high-performance steering gear, brake linings and monotube shock absorbers, 245/45 R20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car three-season tyres and three-mode ESC with “full off” mode.
Visually, the Shaker stands out with roof and deck-lid stripe graphics, a Satin Black deck-lid spoiler and new 20-inch polished-face aluminium wheels with black pockets and a satin matte clear coat. For added detail, “Shaker” badges flank both sides of the hood scoop, while “HEMI” fender badges and a new “Challenger” grille badge in classic script completes the exterior.
Inside, the Shaker has a unique three-spoke flat-bottom leather steering wheel and “K-Black” painted instrument panel and centre console bezel. Matching the numbered dash plaque are door bolsters with graduated accent stitching, “Shaker” logos embroidered on the seat back, and an aluminium pistol-grip shifter for the Tremec six-speed manual ‘box.
Available in six colours, including this unmissable Header Orange, the new 2014 Challenger R/T Shaker will arrive at American Dodge dealerships in the first-quarter of 2014.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
At 21 century, challenger is still maintaining the Datsun look.
the challenger is easily the best looking muscle car on the market, if you are saying that as an insult then you should stick with playing transformers.
Best looking by what standard? Your standard? Guess you married a grandma.
Muscle car standard la….
you must be driving a vios….
Oh ioma, your comeback is as pathetic as your knowledge on cars. Like i said, stick with playing toys.
Yea .. .just because you own a hot wheel challenger, you feel so insulted when someone commented about the look. Dude, it won’t make you more american than others.
No offense. But I also think the looks is very good. Very positive that most of peoples will think the same ;)
p.s. But this car is not suitable in Malaysia :(
So how does a muscle car should look????
Fair praise then… Considering Datsun, or all the Japanese Marques aped American design cues in thier first export cars.
Not sure if you have seen a challenger in person. I have and driven one as well.
An American muscle car isn’t only how it looks or performs. Driving one is a sense of occasion in itself. The burbly v8 sound , the feel and presence (this car is stupid wide) is what makes these cars special and different from normal cars.
I’m personally partial to the camaro… Since I owned a F body z28 for a brief period…..and yes, nothing beats the 5.7l v8 with flow masters. Think a Harley Davidson twin x4.
To preserve old sch look.
Classic.. Dramatic..
one of my favorite driving car…. well,in NFS the run. sigh…
seen a dodge challenger in JB a few times mostly at Thistle Hotel …
