Last month, we saw the Land Rover Freelander replacement running road trials wearing its production body – now, the SUV has been spied undergoing winter testing, still clad in dazzle camouflage. As it turns out, there are a number of baby Disco prototypes strutting about in the snow in Sweden, as the photos show.
The L550, as it’s codenamed, is expected to arrive on the scene later this year as a 2015 model – it’s expected to drop the Freelander name and will expand the Discovery family. Sitting on a modified Evoque platform, two versions of the new SUV are expected, a five-seater as well as a seven-seater.
As it goes, the Discovery range will sit in the middle of LR’s planned three distinct model range lineup, sandwiched between the Range Rover and new Defender class, which will come about at a later stage. Meanwhile, here in Malaysia, the Freelander 2 range has been expanded with the introduction of the petrol-powered Si4 S earlier in the month.
Can’t wait to see it! Guess the seven seater is gonna cost more than the Evoque.
Every car is over price in Malaysia…
let him decide what to do with his money, it wont cost you anything!!
Looks like a bigger evoque
A second liner that is more expensive than the main brand…really??? Branding and pricing should come hand in hand so that customers know which one to choose…both Landrover Disco and Freelander (and later to be renamed as Disco 2 and 3) should all be cheaper than any models under Range Rover…and all models under Defender must be even less…bcoz its already a third line…just like fashion since most Malaysians are brand-conscious eg giorgio armani (main line), followed by armani collezioni, then emporio armani, then armani jeans then finally comes armani exchange (AX) of which most of us are wearing now…which is in fact a fifth line…(wow thats what most of us can afford)…and the shirt is already rm500 before Malaysia mega sales take effect… ;)
