Some updates concerning the KL Mass Rapid Transit system – MMC-Gamuda has announced the latest set of changes to traffic management around work sites as development continues on Phase 1a of the 51 km-long Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line.
The first involves road realignment works in both directions of Jalan Cheras, near AEON Maluri, from May 8 to June 30, though the number of lanes remain at two each in both directions throughout the period.
The realignment, which affects a 300m stretch between the Sunway Velocity construction site and RapidKL Bus depot, is necessary for underground construction works at the Maluri MRT Underground site.
A continuation of long-term night contra-flow will also be implemented along Jalan Cheras, and this will run from Tesco Cheras, Taman Midah to BHP Petrol Station, Taman Pertama (KL-bound & Kajang-bound), from May 6 to December 6, a period of 215 days.
During the night contra-flow, at least one lane will be made available for motorists from both directions. This move is necessary to enable the launching of steel truss placement in preparation of station works and the construction of the pedestrian bridge to the future Taman Midah MRT station.
Next, a revision involving Persiaran Surian near Dataran Sunway, with the announcement that there will be a temporary lane realignment for Sungai Buloh-bound traffic (with no reduction in number of lanes available). This realignment will be in place from May 5 to November 5, a period of 184 days.
Finally, the section of the Sprint Highway from the Kiara interchange to Victoria Station restaurant – the night traffic management plan in place will continue from May 6 to August 5, with night contra-flow on the stretch as well as closure of the flyover from Mont’Kiara to Kerinchi Link from 10 pm to 6 am daily.
Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes:
a) From PJ to KL: Contraflow will be implemented on the stretch in front of Victoria Station, thus motorists will be diverted to the opposite lane (indicated by green arrows on the map). One lane will be made available for both PJ and KL-bound traffic.
b) From KL to PJ: Motorists will be diverted to turn left at the slip road heading to Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar and PJ (indicated by black arrows on the map).
c) From Mont’Kiara/ PJ to Jalan Setiapuspa, Jalan Kasah and Jalan Beluntas: Motorists will be diverted to make a u-turn to go to Jalan Setiapuspa, Jalan Kasah and Jalan Beluntas (indicated by blue arrows on the map)
d) From Mont’Kiara to Federal Highway: Motorists will be diverted to underneath the Kerinchi Interchange flyover, and make a U-turn at Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar, then proceed to the Federal Highway (indicated by green arrows on the map).
Motorists travelling from Jalan Setiapuspa towards KL will not be affected (as indicated by red arrows on the map).
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Haha, more jam.
A road that never stop alignment and construction… 10 years ago and still on going.
Pity the Toyota buyers to visit Cheras showroom. They could come Subang if they don’t mind the journey.
Bloody salesman.
That Cheras Midah Toyota showroom is a joke. 100% of the time go there tak layan – SA either play phone or chitchat with another SA. Never visit that place since then… 5 ~ 6 yrs ago.
Go the nearby Honda showroom immediately got guy & hotchick layan.
I agreed.
Maybe we need to beg those SA to sell us those cars.
Sacrifice little bit for a greater good, our futures-selves will thank us for being patient.
No bicycle lane for easing the jam? We can cycle to work.
